[ccca-announce] Cardinal Creek Community Cleanup: a success!

*Community Cleanup a Success!*

A big thank you to all the Cardinal Creek residents who participated in 
the Community Cleanup this past weekend! The 25 or so volunteers who 
came out helped make the community a much cleaner place.

Together we filled up numerous garbage bags, and several recycling bags, 
to prevent plastic and glass bottles from ending up in landfills. We 
also kept the cleanup green by using gardening gloves to pick up trash, 
instead of disposable latex ones.

The cleanup has positive impacts downstream as well: Our creek flows 
into the Ottawa River, so by keeping it clean, we're helping to keep the 
river clean.

A big thanks to Councillor Bob Monette, for providing our 
volunteers with pizza to celebrate the cleanup! We look forward to 
seeing you all next time!

*Le nettoyage Communautaire est un succès!*

Un gros merci à tout les résidents de Cardinal Creek qui ont participé 
au Nettoyage Communautaire la fin de semaine dernière! Grâce à près de 
25 bénévoles, la communauté est beaucoup plus belle et propre.

Ensemble nous avons rempli plusieurs sac à déchets et à recyclage, ce 
qui éviter d'envoyer des bouteilles en plastique et en verre aux 
enfouissements. Nous avons aussi utilisé des gants de jardinage au lieu 
de ceux en latex, pour ne pas contribuer à augmenter les déchets en 
plastique!

Le nettoyage a aussi des effets positifs en aval de nos cours d'eau: 
Notre ruisseau coule dans la Rivière des Outaouais, donc en le gardant 
propre, nous aidons à garder la rivière propre.

Un gros merci au Conseilleur Bob Monette, pour donner de la pizza à nos 
bénévoles pour clore cette journée sur une note positive! Nous avons 
hâte de vous voir l'an prochain!
